Plagiarism detection mechanisms

PLAGIARISM DETECTION MECHANISMS OF CON-SECUENCIAS MAGAZINE

Plagiarism tools are used to detect duplicate or copied content in texts in order to guarantee the originality of written works and avoid plagiarism.

What is plagiarism?

Plagiarism is when someone uses someone else's ideas, words or work without giving due credit or permission. In the academic and professional context, plagiarism can have serious consequences, such as penalties, loss of reputation, and even legal problems.

Revista Con-Secuencias uses two tools for plagiarism detection:

1. plagius (Professional Plagiarism Detector 2.8.6). It allows:

  • Compare the text of documents with online sources, such as web pages, blogs, and academic articles. Supports DOC, DOCX, PDF, TXT and more.
  • Provides a report with details on the degree of matching of each document, showing the sources from which the content may have been copied.
  • Highlights sections of the document where it found similarities with other texts or sources, for easier review.
  • Allows multiple documents to be analyzed in a single operation.
  • The results of the analysis can be saved and consulted later, allowing a follow-up of the reviewed documents over time.
  • Detect plagiarism in several languages, which makes it useful for works in different languages.

2. Plagiarism Checker X 2024. Allows:

  • Compare content against billions of web pages to identify matches.
  • Compares two documents simultaneously, highlighting similar sections for easy identification of duplicate content.
  • Review multiple jobs at the same time, scanning multiple documents in a single session.
  • Generate complete reports in Word and PDF formats, with color-coded highlighted sections indicating areas of content similarity.
  • Processes documents locally on your device, which means that files are not uploaded to external servers, ensuring users' privacy.

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethics and originality in the articles we publish. Therefore, we inform authors that all submitted manuscripts will undergo a thorough plagiarism analysis.

In case an article does not meet the originality requirements and a high percentage of similarity or plagiarism is detected, the publisher will refrain from publishing it. In case of detected plagiarism, authors will be notified of the results of the analysis and will be given the opportunity to review and correct any irregularities in the paper to ensure that it meets our ethical standards before reconsidering its publication.

We appreciate the cooperation of all authors in ensuring the quality and originality of the content.

We expect authors to understand the importance of plagiarism analysis and offer them an opportunity to correct their work if a problem arises.
