Abstract

In El Salvador, there is no turning back in history, since the possibility of “the past happening again” is no longer part of the collective imagination. It is clear that, in the end, all the topics addressed in the different issues of the magazine (and from different disciplines), when conceived as a whole built from academic analysis, are the steps taken towards a critical social theory that -per se- accounts for the process of reinvention of the country, a reinvention that, with great advantage, exceeds the pretensions and good intentions of the so-called “progressivism”.
